A number of JSH students have participated this summer in a food preservation course taught by Mrs. Young. Students have canned and frozen jam, pickled cucumbers and beans, dehydrated bananas and strawberries, pressure cooked beef stew, vacuumed-sealed roasted rabbit, and blanched and frozen carrots. Next week students will ferment vegetables and will be freeze-drying various foods.
