2024 Quilt Show for Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Ionia Imagination Library
The 2024 annual quilt show will be held this Saturday March 16th from 9-1 at the Ionia County Intermediate School District. This year we are featuring approximately 58 quilts in the Silly Safari theme, highlighting all those fun animals you would see on a trip to the wild lands of Africa. In addition, we have The Little Engine that Could quilts and a few Christmas quilts in the show. In total there will be over 80 quilts available on this day. This year we will be doing a sale and a raffle. If you are interested in purchasing a quilt, you may do it on the day of the show from 9-1. The cost for a quilt is $135.00 and that sponsors a child in the program for an entire year, giving them a complete home library of 60 books. At 1:15 we will raffle off any remaining quilts. Tickets for the raffle are $5.00 per ticket or $30.00 for 10 tickets. This amount sponsors a child for one year in the program. Tickets will be available on the day of the show but can also be purchased in advance at: Alvah A. Belding Library, Ionia Community Library, Biggby in Ionia, Michigan One Community Credit Union in Ionia, Portland Library and the Ionia County Intermediate School District office.
The program is serving approximately 2000 children each month by providing a book mailed directly to their home. Every child birth to five that resides within the Ionia Intermediate School District is eligible to participate. This early literacy initiative is completely funded by community donations. The quilt sale and raffle is our largest fund-raising event of the year. We hope you are able to stop in and view an amazing art show, have a treat or two and purchase a quilt or ticket to support the program. With so many quilts available this year, the chances of winning are pretty good! You can follow along on the Ionia Imagination Library facebook page or view the quilts in the booklet below.
Thank you for your support!

Coming up !!!!
The Saranac JSH Robotics team has been around for 10 years and this is the first time they have made it to the State Championships, after coming close a few times over the years. The format is 80 teams in 2 divisions with 3 or 4 fields running per division to keep everyone moving through the qualifiers. After the qualifiers the top 8 or 16 teams per division pick a partner and then run a 'March Madness' type bracket to get to the tournament champion.
How did they get here...the last competition they went to at Jenison, the 'A Team' ended up as team number 16 for the finals. The 'A Team' picked our 'Z Team' as their partner and Saranac went up against the number 1 seeded team. We lost by 13 points but we had the opposing teams sweating.....final score was 97 - 110. Both our teams worked well together and almost upset the number 1 seeded team.
Good luck to our Saranac Robotics team !!!!
Congratulations to Abigail Janson, who signed a lettter of commitment this week to serve as the student manager for the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team! Abigail is currently finishing out her senior season as a member of the RedHawks varsity basketball team.
